ABOUT TONY
I was born in Shawnee, OK on January 5, 1953, so I just turned 70!
I was raised as a Pastor’s kid and swore I would NEVER go into ministry. Guess what? I went into ministry and served for 50+ years and retired in 2020 from Pine Acres Church, Weatherford, OK. When God has a plan for your life there is no better plan! Ask Jonah. Most of my years were served as Worship Pastor and the final few years I was Associate Pastor in charge of Care and Connect.
My wife, Reggie, and I have been married nearly 51 years. We were 6th Grade sweethearts who ended up getting back together as seniors in high school and married in June, 1972. We have 2 daughters, Rachelle and Robyn and they each have 2 children. We also have 2 wonderful sons-in-laws Mike and Josh. They are great husbands and dads!
From the oldest to the youngest is Baylor, a senior in High School at Memorial High School in Edmond, OK and plans to play basketball at Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO next year. So, I’m sure Reggie and I will be traveling NW quite a bit! Hudson is her brother and is playing varsity basketball and starting as a freshman at Edmond Memorial High School also. He loves basketball and plays year-round and is pretty dog gone good, if I do say so myself.
Remi, our youngest granddaughter lives in our town of Weatherford, Ok and her brother Ripken. Remi loves all kinds of crafts, arts and dance. She is known having said “my brother and cousins are all good at sports. I needed to find something where a ball would not hit me in the face.” At the age of 12 she has started her own little business Smiles and Co by Remi. Find her on FB to see some of her work. You may just want something she has created. ☺
Her brother, Ripken, is all into sports. He loves them all and keeps us running, watching him play all over the area. One of my greatest joys, next to serving Christ, is spending time with my family. We have GREAT family times!
I am also serving in my church. I currently serve as Deacon and from time to time find myself teaching Sunday School or serving on different committees. I love being involved. Each year at Christmas you can find me raising donations for our Ministerial Alliance to support our Caring and Sharing Project which raises money for under-privileged families within our community. This past year we put up 172 angels and raised a little over $16,000 for this ministry. It is so exciting to see our community come together to serve our community in this way. I wish you could see it!
I retired in 2020 from Pine Acres church to begin and operate CANNON TRAVELS. I resigned in February, and you all know what happened in March. Needless to say, it was a difficult year to start a business, but God has provided as He always does.
I have led Sr Adults on trips all during my 50 years in Ministry then started a travel company in 2020. I love people and I love travel and it is LOTS of fun for me!
I can’t wait to meet many new friends as we travel together this year. I’ll see you there!
